Discover SPARK

The product, how it works overall and how to customise it.

What is SPARK and how does it work?

SPARK is an event gamification solution that combines a physical connected wheel with software for collecting and qualifying leads. It attracts visitors, gets them to take part in an activity, collects information and measures the results of an event.

The participant fills in a fully customisable form, then spins the wheel by hand. The software determines the reward according to the campaign settings and drives the wheel to the matching segment. The data collected can then be used in the SPARK CRM.

Getting started is quick and easy.

What types of events is SPARK suited to?

SPARK is aimed in particular at:

  • trade shows and consumer fairs
  • corporate events
  • brand activations
  • promotional campaigns
  • car dealerships, showrooms and points of sale
What does the SPARK pack contain and how many wheels can be used?

The pack includes:

  • a physical connected wheel
  • an offline operating box (Offline box)
  • if needed, TP-Link network equipment

Only one wheel can currently be used per event.

Can SPARK be customised with our brand identity?

Yes. The wheel and its segments can be visually customised. The form can be styled in your company colours, and the texts and messages shown to participants can be customised.

Setup and installation

Assembly, power, location and equipment.

How do I set up SPARK: how many people, how long, and what tool?

One person is enough to set up SPARK. Installation takes about 10 minutes, depending on the model and the mounting method.

An Allen key is supplied with the wheel for assembly and disassembly.

How is the wheel powered?

The wheel runs on mains power. Battery operation can be offered if needed.

Where should the wheel be installed, and can it be used outdoors?

The wheel must be installed on a flat floor.

Outdoor use is possible, provided it is sheltered from wind and rain.

What are the Offline box and the TP-Link router for?

The Offline box lets you keep playing without an Internet connection. It switches on automatically when the wheel starts: there is nothing to launch.

The TP-Link router is optional network equipment. It provides a suitable network when the event's infrastructure is not appropriate.

Connectivity and offline use

Access to the software, Wi-Fi, Offline mode and synchronisation.

How do I access the SPARK software?

The SPARK software is available through a web interface, from any device that can connect to the Internet or to a Wi-Fi network: computer, smartphone or tablet.

Can we use the event's Wi-Fi?

Yes, if the network has a dedicated access key. Since trade show Wi-Fi networks can be unstable, an Offline mode is provided for weak or unstable networks.

Networks with a captive portal (a login page to be validated before accessing the Internet) are not compatible with the planned setup.

Does SPARK work without an Internet connection?

Yes, thanks to the Offline box, but in a degraded mode: participants can keep playing, while features that require the Internet are disabled during this mode.

The mobile interface includes an offline operation indicator.

What happens to data collected offline?

Data collected offline is synchronised when the Internet connection returns.

Playing with the wheel

Spinning, spin validation, queue and free mode.

How does a spin work?

The participant physically spins the wheel by hand, in the direction of their choice: the wheel can be spun in both directions. The electronic system then acts on the movement to stop it on the segment selected by the software.

The result therefore does not depend on the strength of the spin: the software determines the reward according to the probabilities configured in the campaign.

When is a spin validated, and what if it is not?

A spin must allow the wheel to complete at least two full turns. In the following cases, the spin is not validated and a new spin is needed to validate the win:

  • Spin too gentle: the wheel just freewheels. The participant is informed on their phone, and the operator sees it on their device.
  • Wheel stopped manually during the spin.
  • Spin too hard: this is not a failure. The wheel simply takes longer to stop, and the system keeps working.
Can several people play at the same time?

No, only one person can physically spin the wheel at a time. A queue organises the participations, and participants can see their position in the queue.

Can we play without rewards?

Yes. SPARK offers a free mode without rewards. In normal mode, the software drives the wheel to the selected segment.

Campaigns and rewards

Segments, probabilities, maximum quantities and award rules.

What is a campaign and who sets it up?

A campaign groups the settings of the activity: form, rewards, probabilities and collected data.

Campaigns can be prepared before the event by the SPARK team, and several campaigns can be created in one SPARK account.

How is the wheel made up: segments, rewards and losing segments?

The wheel has 12 segments. Each segment corresponds to a physical slot on the wheel and can be visually customised.

The rewards depend on the activity the client wants, and losing segments can be configured.

How do I configure winning probabilities?

The software lets you define the probability of awarding each reward. The sum of the probabilities must equal 100%.

A reward can have a very low probability of being won.

Total probabilities = 100%.

Can a reward be limited, and can we track what was won?

Yes. A probability or a maximum quantity can be set for a reward. When its stock runs out, the reward can no longer be awarded.

SPARK also shows how many times each reward has been won.

Can rewards be changed during a campaign?

No. Once the campaign has started, its rewards can no longer be changed. To change them, a new campaign must be scheduled.

Only the rewards are locked: the form questions can be changed during an event.

Can we choose the winner in advance or give them a specific reward?

No. It is not possible to deliberately designate a winner or arbitrarily select a participant to give them a reward. Awards follow the configured probabilities.

Can a person play several times?

No. Each person (or phone) can only take part once.

Forms and participation

Access to the form, content, languages and how winnings are communicated.

What is the form for and when is it filled in?

Built into the participation journey, the form collects contact details as well as sales qualification information.

It must be filled in before spinning the wheel.

How do visitors access the form?

They can scan a QR code or use a tablet available on the stand. A visitor without a smartphone can therefore take part.

What can be customised in the form?

Forms are fully customisable:

  • required and optional fields
  • multiple-choice questions and free-text fields
  • conditional questions: a question can vary depending on the answer to a previous question
  • texts and messages shown to participants, in your company colours
  • several languages
Can the form be changed during the event?

Yes, the form questions can be changed during an event.

The rewards of a campaign that has started, however, can no longer be changed.

What does the participant receive after their spin?

Participants immediately see the reward they have won. An email can also be sent automatically after a spin, and it is possible to send a discount or a digital reward after participation.

Leads and CRM

Qualification, sales follow-up and contact exports.

Where do I find the collected leads and how do I sort them?

Form data is centralised in the SPARK CRM, before any export to your company's CRM. Leads collected during an event can be found and used there, and those from several events can be grouped together.

Leads can be filtered according to their answers to the forms.

How do I qualify a lead?

Several tools are available on a lead's record:

  • three levels of interest, shown as stars
  • tags
  • notes added by users
Can we take voice notes, and what does the AI assistant do?

Yes, voice notes can be taken. An AI assistant can transcribe them and suggest qualification information or tags.

How do I follow up leads with my sales team?

Leads can be assigned to members of the sales team. A history of interactions at the show makes it possible to follow exchanges with a lead.

A mobile interface gives access to leads, notes and sales follow-up features, in addition to the desktop interface.

How do I export leads or transfer them to our CRM?

Lead data can be exported in CSV format. You can export only qualified leads or selected contacts.

Transfer to your company's CRM is done through this CSV export.

Can we send emails to the collected leads?

SPARK includes email campaign features for the collected leads.

Statistics and results

Real-time indicators and event comparison.

Which indicators can I view during the event?

SPARK lets you view indicators on participants, collected leads and campaign results, updated in real time during the event:

  • the total number of participants
  • the number of leads collected
  • the total number of spins
  • the number of rewards won
Can we compare the results of several events?

Yes, SPARK lets you compare the results of several events.

Personal data

Storage, compliance and data retrieval.

Where is the data stored, and can I retrieve it?

Where is it stored?

Your data (campaigns, participants, winnings, notes) is saved in a database on the SPARK server, hosted in Europe (Frankfurt). Each client company only sees its own data. An encrypted backup copy is kept with a second host in France (Scaleway, Paris) for 30 days at most.

If the offline box is used on your stand, a working copy of your contacts is present on that box for the duration of the event. It is deleted automatically 12 hours after the end of the campaign.

Can I retrieve it?

Yes. From your account, you can export the list of your leads and the winnings at any time as CSV, JSON or PDF, as well as the campaign report as a PDF. You can also request the erasure of an individual or the deletion of your account.
